The Commuter Store
The Commuter Store® offers face-to-face information, sales, and assistance at three locations in Arlington, Virginia. Affiliated stores are located in Maryland and Fairfax County. Fares and passes are available for all regional transit systems. See "Products" for all fares and products sold. Printed bus schedules, maps and other free publications are available. Courteous staff will assist you in planning the best way to travel, whether by bus, rail, carpool, vanpool, bicycle or walking.
Please note: The Commuter Store adds a 25-cent convenience fee to the cost of WMATA products (Metrobus and Metrorail fares and SmarTrip cards). There is no convenience fee added for discounted fare media for seniors and persons with disabilities. Fare media for other transit systems are sold at face value.

The Commuter Store® and SmartBenefits
Many Washington, DC area employers participate in the SmartBenefits program. This program assigns transit benefits to employees' SmarTrip cards, which are accepted by the Metro system and many local bus systems. However, some transit systems, including MARC, MTA Commuter Bus and VRE commuter rail, don't accept the electronic farecards. Employees who need their transit benefits applied to fares for these systems can set up a SmartBenefits Personal Account with CommuterDirect.com. CommuterDirect.com will then deliver the appropriate tickets by mail, or the tickets may be picked up at the Commuter Store location you choose. (Locations listed below.)
