Transit/TDM Vision Plan Meeting

Tuesday, February 14, 2012

Recognizing the transportation challenges faced by Northern Virginia and its commuting communities, the Commonwealth of Virginia has embarked on an ambitious effort to develop a Transit and Transportation Demand Management (TDM) vision for the Super NoVa region.

This vision will lay out the strategy for improving mobility for the region in the short, mid, and long-term through a combination of transit and TDM enhancements. The Super NoVa region for this study is defined as Northern Virginia as well as an area extending to Caroline County on the south, Culpeper County on the west, and Frederick County to the northwest.

The Super NoVa Transit and TDM Vision Plan will recognize the purposeful connection between land use and transportation, today and into the future. The Vision Plan will identify realistic, but visionary, strategies for enhancing people's mobility through non-single occupant auto means under existing and future conditions. Planning efforts of the study will culminate in the development of recommendations for a wide range of transit modes as well as transportation demand management programs and infrastructure.

Join the discussion at one of our open house meetings in Crystal City on February 14th from 11:30am - 1:30pm and share some of your best ideas and thoughts!
