Arlington Active Streets Festival

Arlington Active Streets will temporarily open selected streets to people by closing them to cars. Active Streets events provide programming to support physical activity, foster community connections, broaden transportation choices and support local businesses. Arlington will host its first event of this kind on June 11, 2016, in conjunction with the Air Force Cycling Classic and street closures already occurring for that event.

Along with a pop-up protected bike lane along Wilson Blvd, there will be a “bike petting zoo” where folks can try out different kinds of bikes. And local businesses like gyms, yoga and dance studios will come out to lead demonstrations! Check out the schedule below.

9:00 am – 10:00 am – Yoga from Down Dog Yoga
11:00 am – 1:45 pm – Bike Maintenance Basics with Phoenix Bikes
12:00 pm – 2:00 pm – Kid’s Bike Rodeo
12:00 pm – 1:45 – Bike Crafts with Arlington Parks and Recreation
12:30 pm – 1:30 pm – Yoga from Down Dog Yoga
