Arlington County will conduct its next Bicycle and Pedestrian Count Saturday, September 12 and Tuesday, September 15 and we need your help!

There is a saying in transportation circles, “If it isn’t counted, it doesn’t count.” Data on walking and cycling generate support for improving conditions walking and cycling. Recently, for example, Arlington dedicated resources to clear snow from County trails based partly on data showing trail use right through the winter. And this year for the first time, Arlington will use new methods developed by Rails to Trails Conservancy, a national non-profit headquartered in Washington, D.C., to calibrate, validate, and increase the accuracy of the County’s system of automated counting devices.
