What: Feet in the Street is a District Department of Transportation program that opens streets of the District to pedestrians and cyclists to walk, bike, run, and play in public space that they ordinarily cannot access. Feet in the Street promotes healthy people, sustainable transportation, and active communities. It is modeled loosely after Bogota's Ciclovia, New York City's Summer Streets, and similar programs across the country and around the world.
In partnership with the National Park Service, 1.7 miles of streets through Fort Dupont Park will be opened to pedestrians and cyclists for six hours on Saturday, August 28.
