Metro Platform Reconstruction Will Continue Through the Summer
All nine Orange and Silver line stations west of Ballston-MU will be closed and Silver Line service will be temporarily suspended starting Saturday, May 23.
During the shutdown, Metro will combine this summer’s platform reconstruction work at Vienna, Dunn Loring, East Falls Church and West Falls Church with a separate project on the Silver Line to connect Metrorail to the new "phase II" stations, which are being constructed by the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA).
Free express and local shuttle service will be available during the shutdown.
