By now, you're fully aware of the station closures on the Blue and Yellow Line in Alexandria, and are caught up on the options to travel around the area through the summer. By the third week of the shutdown, there were almost 34,000 people using the shuttles every day—a much larger ridership than the shuttle operations for SafeTrack in 2016. The most popular shuttles have been from the Franconia-Springfield and Huntington stations to the Pentagon.

ART 43 and 53 schedule and route changes will go into effect starting on Sunday, June 30, 2019. ART 43 weekend service is being eliminated. ART 53 mid-day service and the 53W extension to Westover is also being eliminated.

In celebration of ART's 20th anniversary, a sculpture of an ART bus was built entirely out of food cans and is on display at Ballston Quarter. The sculpture is located on the main level of the mall across from the True Foods Kitchen and will be on display until June 8. Once the sculpture is taken down, all of the food will be donated to the Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC) to help Arlington families.
