About the Transportation Demand Management Research Center
Arlington County Commuter Services (ACCS) created this Web site to provide easy access to past marketing research studies and transportation-related reports. Here you can find many of the most recent marketing research studies conducted and reports generated by Arlington County and other transportation agencies and organizations on topics ranging from car- and vanpooling to transit services to telecommuting in the Arlington County, Northern Virginia, and Washington D.C. areas.
While all of these individual research studies and reports were initially prepared for specific purposes and originate from many different sources, we believe the information and insights they offer may be of help to transportation planners, Transportation Demand Management (TDM) professionals, and transportation-related organizations in planning future transportation programs and services.
The studies and reports included on this Web site have added to ACCS' collective knowledge base on how travelers, in general, and Arlington County residents, in particular, perceive different transportation topics, transportation programs and services, and alternative commute options.
You can access studies and reports by topic, key words, and date of study. Executive summaries of each study and report are provided to give you a quick snapshot of what's included. In many cases, the full study (PowerPoint file), questionnaire, and sometimes even data tables, are attached. In addition to these individual studies and reports, this Web site also hosts a series of our "Knowledge Papers," cataloged by topic area. These white papers highlight our collective thinking on key commuter issues. They serve as the foundation of ACCS's current marketing program.
This resource center is a work in progress. We will add studies as they are conducted. If you know of a study that would complement this database, please contact us. If you know anyone who would benefit from this database, please use this link to notify them.
