  • Safetrack is a year-long plan to improve the safety and reliability of the Metrorail system. The plan pits safety first by doing more track work on weeknights, weekends, middays and during rush hours. It also includes line segment shutdowns and around-the-clock single tracking projects, referred to as "Safety Surges". Many Riders will be impacted, but the work required cannot be achieved using old methods alone.
