ARTists for PAL Contest

ARTists for PAL Design Contest

Congratulations to Annemarie Dougherty the winner of the ARTists for PAL Bus Design Contest! Annemarie’s design has been used to wrap one ART bus that was revealed in August. The wrapped bus is traveling throughout Arlington to remind people to “Be a PAL” (Predictable, Alert and Lawful) when walking, biking and driving in Arlington.

Thank you to everyone who entered the contest. All of the designs received are on display inside of the "Be a PAL" bus.

About Share Our Streets -- Be a PAL

Share Our Streets -- Be a PAL is Arlington County's pedestrian, cycling and driving safety initiative. The program strives to educate everyone about the importance of sharing the streets and being a PAL:

Predictable -- travel in a predictable way; don't make sudden, unexpected moves

Be a PAL, Predictable, Alert, Lawful

Alert -- pay attention to your surroundings and to others around you

Lawful -- obey the traffic laws, whether in a car, on a bike, or on foot

Whether you're on two feet, two wheels or four wheels, we all need to share our streets safely. Learn more about the PAL program at commuterpage.com/pal.
