Public Meeting: Carlin Springs Bridge Aesthetic Design

Where: Lubber Run Center, 300 North Park Drive, Arlington, VA
Who: Open to the Public

What:   As part of the design process for a complete replacement of the existing N. Carlin Springs Road Bridge at N. George Mason Dr., Arlington County is currently seeking input from the community on the aesthetic elements for the bridge design. Over the past year, county staff, with input from the surrounding community, has developed a structural footprint of the new bridge, which will accommodate vehicular, pedestrian and bicycle users as illustrated in the cross-section drawing below. The next phase of the design process includes selection of bridge materials and aesthetic elements before moving forward with,the final engineering plans.

Meeting Agenda will include:

• Presentation on the preferred structural design

• Presentation on aesthetic design alternatives

• Attendees are invited to comment on the aesthetic design elements and alternatives
