Arlington County Commuter Services, sponsor of CommuterPage.com, is a member of Commuter Connections, a regional network of transportation organizations serving Maryland Virginia, West Virginia, and Washington, D.C., coordinated through the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments (COG). Commuter Connections now offers two great ways to find a carpool:
The Commuter Connections Ridesharing Service
To get started finding a carpool through Commuter Connections, go to the Commuter Connections website to set up an account and request a matchlist of possible carpool partners, or call Commuter Connections at 1-800-745-RIDE (7433). The four Arlington locations of The Commuter Store also have application forms on hand and offer assistance in filling them out.
Commuter Connections Commuter Bulletin Board
Check out the Commuter Connections Commuter Bulletin Board to browse the well-organized postings from other commuters, or to post your own message. Either way, once you're carpooling, you can sign up for the Commuter Connections Guaranteed Ride Home Service for free rides home when the unexpected happens. (The Guaranteed Ride Home Service is also available to commuters who use other commuting alternatives, such as public transportation or bicycling.)
