The Teen Transit Initiative was launched on January 2, 2006 by Arlington County Board Chair Chris Zimmerman. This year Arlington County will launch a 'Teen Transit Initiative,' a joint effort with the Arlington Partnership for Children, Youth, and Families and Arlington Public Schools. The goal will be both to provide better service and better information to teens, but also to engage them directly in the initiative. In the process, we may help to make a new generation of transit-users," said Mr. Zimmerman in his remarks at the start of his term as County Chairman. Chairman's remarks, January 2, 2006.
The Teen Transit Advisory Board was formed to discuss how to encourage teens to take public transit. iRide is the name of the campaign they developed. Teens - join the Teen Transit Advisory Board!
