riding 101photos: teens getting off buses

1

“It’s less work for you.”
Instead of rearranging your busy schedule to constantly drop me off and pick me up, I can start riding places myself—and you can finally get some time to relax.

2

“I'll be a more productive member of society.”
Riding the bus or the train will make it easier for me to get to school, my job and extracurricular activities—which will all look good on my college applications.

3

“You can stop worrying about me so much.”
Wouldn’t you rather have me ride a vehicle driven by an adult, professional driver than one driven by a friend who just got her license?

4

“I know how to do it.”
Arlington County is doing a lot to teach teens about riding transit—I can learn about how to find the right bus or train, make transfers, and stay safe all on this website, plus there’s a display with local transit maps and information at my school.

“It’s cheap.”
ART only charges 75¢ for teens with middle school or high school ID. iRide tokens are available at the Commuter Store and Arlington Rec Centers for even less—$10 for twenty tokens.
