Transit Access for Bicyclists
Each ART bus has a two-place bike rack that will hold standard length bicycles. Bikes ride free with the ART passenger. This can be an easy way to meet your friends across town for a ride, extend your riding horizons, get home if you have a flat, or take your bike for maintenance. For more information and detailed instructions about using the bike racks, see ART's web site.
Bike-'N-Ride on Metrobus
Cyclists can transport their bikes aboard Metrobus in quality, heavy-duty racks attached to the front of each bus. Up to two bikes can be stored in each rack, which cyclists can easily load and unload themselves, following the simple instructions affixed to the racks. Thre is no extra charge for passengers transporting a bike. More information about Bike-'N-Ride on Metrobus is available on Metro's web site.
Bike-'N-Ride on Metrorail
The Bike-'N-Ride on Metrobus program complements Metro's long-standing Bike-'N-Ride on Metrorail program, which allows bicycle riders to bring their bikes on Metrorail cars as long as they enter the rail cars from the end set of doors on a railcar and do so weekdays during off peak hours or anytime during the weekends. Certain holidays also are designated as days that bicycles are prohibited on Metrorail. Before taking your bike on the train, check out Metro's Bike-'N-Ride on Metrorail Guidelines. There is no extra charge for transporting a bike on Metrorail. More information about Bike-'N'-Ride on Metrorail is available on Metro's web site.

Bike on Montgomery County's Ride-On Bus
Ride On is 100% bike rack equipped. Use them to bike part of the way to work and let RIDE ON worry about those big traffic jams. Or, rack your bike and take a ride to your favorite bicycle path without having to worry about car racks or secure parking near the bike route. Each rack holds two bikes and supports most wheel and frame sizes - even children's bikes. However, they cannot carry motorized bikes. You'll find bike racks on RIDE ON's kneeling buses (kneeling buses are equipped with a button that lowers the bus to curb level to assist those who need help boarding the bus), making it easy for anyone to mount a bike. Use of the racks is free and does not require a pass or permit. More information about Ride On's Bike Program is available on the Ride On web site.
