ART Alert – Keeping You Better Informed About Your ART Bus Service
Ever gotten up in the morning, snow is falling, and wondered whether or not your ART bus is running on its regular route?
Things happen. In addition to snow, sometimes there is construction that closes a street down causing detours. And in rare cases a mechanical problem or traffic congestion may cause an ART bus to be more than 15 minutes off schedule. When these things do happen, it is Arlington Transit’s pledge to keep you informed.
ART Alert provides real-time information about service disruptions and immediate emergency announcements on this website, via Email and text messaging, and via RSS feed to your RSS reader or website. As in the past, you can also get the latest information regarding your ART bus service by calling 703.228.RIDE.
Metrorail Service Disruptions Now Included in ART Alert
ART Alert now also includes real-time information about Metrorail service disruptions. Find out immediately about any disruption to the ART or Metrorail portion of your trip with ART Alert.
Sign Up Today For ART Alert
via Email or Text Messaging
When there is a service disruption or emergency announcement, ART Alert will automatically send you an email or send a text message to your cell phone, pager, or PDA equipped to receive SMS. To sign up for ART Alert, go to the signup page and complete the online form for new users. Provide your email address and, optionally, your cell phone/pager/PDA number. Then select the desired route(s) that you’d like information regarding. It’s that simple.
Once you’ve signed up you’ll receive a real-time ART Alert Email and/or text message that is customized with information pertaining to only the ART bus route(s) that you use, whenever there is a service disruption or emergency announcement.
RSS Feeds
ART Alert and ART News are available as RSS feeds. RSS is a standardized format for distributing news items and other content from Web sites. The content can be displayed in RSS readers, on Web logs (blogs), and on other Web sites. The orange "XML" icons below and elsewhere on this site are linked to RSS feeds.
