Call for applications for vacancies on Arlington County Transit Advisory Committee

Arlington County wants to hear from people like you.

The Arlington County Transit Advisory Committee (TAC) advises staff on ways to improve Arlington Transit (ART), Specialized Transit for Arlington Residents (STAR), Metrobus, Metrorail, and MetroAccess services. Arlington County is currently soliciting applications from customers interested in filling vacancies on the TAC.

Do you qualify?

We encourage you to apply for membership if you:

  1. Ride ART, STAR, Metrobus, Metrorail and/or MetroAccess and
  2. Live in Arlington County,
  3. Participate in a neighborhood or civic group in Arlington County,
  4. Are not employed by Arlington County or a contractor to the Transportation Division, and
  5. Are not an elected official.

How members are selected.

The Arlington County Manager will select candidates as vacancies develop on the TAC, based on their qualifications that represent an accurate cross-section of customers and reflect a broad representation of people from different geographical locations in Arlington County.

What you give. What you get.

If selected, you will advise our County Manager and the Transportation Division staff. You won't be paid, but you will have the opportunity to help make a difference in the way transit services are provided to Arlington residents.

How to apply:

Please write Richard Hartman, Transportation Planner, Department of Environmental Services – Transportation Division, 2100 Clarendon Blvd. S-900, Arlington, VA 22201.
